Bharat Ek Anokha Raag: Independence Day celebrations at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya
Independence Day celebrations at the Vidyalaya were held on the 14th of August, 2024. Eminent Environmentalist and Director General of Centre for Science and Environment Dr. Sunita Narain was the chief guest for the occasion. The programme began with the sholk Bhoome gariyasi maata, followed by the song- Ae khaake hind'. Students presented a musical tribute to India's syncretic heritage through a presentation based on Raag Desh, aptly titled Bharat Ek Anokha Raag hai. Scholarships were awarded to the meritorious students across academics, sports and co curricular domains. In her address, Dr. Sunita Narain emphasised the importance of establishing a bond with nature and environment being a social responsibility. Students also presented a thought provoking theatrical presentation on the idea of education in the contemporary times. The programme concluded with a rousing applause to eternal favourites like 'Chandan Hai Maati Mere Desh Ki' and Woh din hai kitna door'.
