The Lunchbox Soundtrack is held as a precursor to the Musical Afternoon every year. Spread over a span of four days, it involves the participation of students from classes 9-12 who prepare musical pieces in bands of three or more. The entire school jams to the tunes played by their peers during lunch and the bands are judged by the music teachers and an alumnus of the Vidyalaya, who mostly happens to be involved in the arena of music. As the children explore their musical creativity and set the tone for the Musical Afternoon, the Lunchbox Soundtrack gives the students an opportunity to perform in a non-judgemental space and learn the art of mastering the stage. The judges then select the top three bands who eventually perform on the day of the Musical Afternoon. This year the Lunchbox Soundtrack took place from 23rd-27th April. The selected bands will now perform on the 12th of May as will all other students along with their batches, exploring and learning about the theme for this year's Musical Afternoon- 'Rivers'.
